12 slices of smoked turkey deli meat, cut into quarters
6 slices of Swiss or Cheddar cheese, cut into quarters
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter to ensure the sandwiches do not stick to the bottom. Lay out 24 crackers on the prepared baking sheet, flat side up, to create the base of your sandwiches.
Take your quartered slices of smoked turkey and place one or two small pieces onto each cracker. Follow this by placing a quartered piece of cheese on top of the meat. Place another cracker on top of the cheese to create a small sandwich, making sure they are spaced evenly so the glaze can drip down the sides.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and dried parsley until the mixture is smooth and well combined. This glaze provides the depth of flavor that makes these sandwiches so addictive.
Using a pastry brush or a small spoon, carefully coat the top of each sandwich with the butter mixture. Be used generous so that some of the glaze seeps into the sides of the crackers. Sprinkle the poppy seeds evenly over the tops of all the sandwiches for a festive and professional look.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes. You are looking for the cheese to be completely melted and the crackers to turn a slightly deeper golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them rest for two minutes before serving to allow the glaze to set slightly.
