Quick Christmas Cranberry Meatballs

Quick Christmas Cranberry Meatballs

  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pre-cooked beef or turkey meatballs (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 can (14 oz) jellied cranberry sauce
  • 3/4 cup chili sauce (tomato-based)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Fresh parsley or rosemary for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan or deep skillet, combine the jellied cranberry sauce, chili sauce, orange juice, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Turn the heat to medium and use a whisk to break up the cranberry sauce as it melts. Stir the mixture constantly until it becomes a smooth, bubbling glaze.
  2. Carefully add the pre-cooked meatballs to the saucepan. Use a large spoon or spatula to toss the meatballs gently, ensuring every single one is completely coated in the thick, red cranberry mixture.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Allow the meatballs to simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes. If you are using frozen meatballs, ensure they are heated through to the center. The sauce will thicken and become even more flavorful as it reduces slightly during this time.
  4. Transfer the warm meatballs to a serving platter or a festive bowl. Drizzle any remaining sauce from the pan over the top. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or sprigs of rosemary for a beautiful Christmas presentation. Provide toothpicks nearby for easy snacking.
