Cranberry Feta Dip with Pistachios and Hot Honey

Cranberry Feta Dip with Pistachios and Hot Honey

  • Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup roasted pistachios, shelled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • Assorted crackers or toasted baguette for serving

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Soften and Prepare the Base. Start by ensuring your cream cheese is completely softened at room temperature. This is the secret to a smooth, lump-free dip. Place the softened cream cheese, crumbled feta, and Greek yogurt into a food processor or a large mixing bowl. If you want a very smooth texture, the food processor is best, but a hand mixer works well if you prefer a slightly more textured, rustic finish.
  2. Step 2: Blend Until Creamy. Pulse the cheese mixture until it reaches your desired consistency. For a whipped feta style, blend for about two minutes until the mixture is light and airy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl halfway through to ensure every bit of feta is incorporated. Add the cracked black pepper and orange zest during the final few seconds of blending to distribute the aromatics evenly.
  3. Step 3: Prepare the Festive Toppings. While the cheese base rests, prepare your toppings. Roughly chop the dried cranberries so they are easier to scoop up with a cracker. Shell the pistachios and give them a coarse chop as well. You want some larger pieces for crunch and smaller bits for color. Finely mince the fresh parsley, ensuring it is dry before chopping so it stays fluffy rather than clumping together.
  4. Step 4: Assemble and Garnish. Spread the whipped feta mixture onto a shallow serving plate or into a wide bowl, using the back of a spoon to create decorative swirls and divots. Sprinkle the chopped cranberries and pistachios generously over the top. Drizzle the hot honey in a circular motion, making sure it settles into the swirls of the cheese. Finally, garnish with the fresh parsley for a beautiful Christmas finish.
